Free events for pregnancy and new parenthood
Local midwives, doulas, osteopaths, sleep coaches and counsellors, running free events together across Hertfordshire.
One group, so you don't have to find us one at a time
Pregnancy comes with a long list of people you might need: someone to prepare you for birth, someone who knows about feeding, someone to help when nobody is sleeping. Finding them one by one, while exhausted, is its own job.
So we've stopped working separately. Herts Birth & Beyond is a group of independent practitioners who each run our own practice, and who put on free events together. You meet several of us at once, ask what you like, and take away whatever's useful. Nobody is going to sell you anything.
Between us, we cover
Different people, different specialisms — all in one room.
-
Getting ready for birth
Antenatal classes, hypnobirthing and working out what you actually want.
-
Someone beside you in labour
Doulas and birth partners who stay with you through it.
-
Feeding, however it goes
Breastfeeding support, lactation help and a hand when it hurts.
-
Sleep, for all of you
Newborn and toddler sleep, and overnight help when you're beyond tired.
-
Your body afterwards
Osteopathy, gentle movement and recovery at your own pace.
-
How you're feeling
Counselling and a place to talk about birth, anxiety or loss.
What an event is actually like
- Free, with no catch. You don't pay, and you won't be signed up to anything.
- Small enough to ask real questions. Including the ones you'd rather not put in a group chat.
- Bring whoever is coming with you. Partners, mums, friends, a sister — all welcome, and babies too.
- Sit down, get comfortable, leave when you need to. Nobody minds if you need the loo four times or have to slip out early.
The people you'd be meeting
15 independent practitioners from across Hertfordshire — every one of us running our own practice.
